MUBI FEST to debut in Guadalajara, Mexico

MUBI FEST is arriving in Guadalajara, Mexico, for the first time. Scheduled to take place from September 18 to 20, 2026, at the Cineteca Universidad de Guadalajara, the event is part of a global series of film celebrations.

The festival features a curated selection of international cinema, including several Mexican premieres sourced from the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. Notable upcoming titles include ‘Su Propio Infierno’ by Nicolas Winding Refn, the science fiction film ‘Sheep in the Box’ by Hirokazu Koreeda, and ‘Hope: El primer impacto’ by Na Hong-jin.

Additionally, the program includes ‘Rose’ by Markus Schleinzer, which was selected as Austria’s official entry for the 2027 Academy Awards. The event will also showcase Mexican classics such as ‘El Castillo de la Pureza’ by Arturo Ripstein and ‘Él’ by Luis Buñuel in 4K resolution. Activities will include special screenings, talks, and outdoor functions.
