Muc-Off and Forestry England partner for trail care
Bicycle care specialist Muc-Off has entered into a three-year partnership with Forestry England to support mountain bike trail maintenance and ecological restoration. The collaboration is a component of Muc-Off’s sustainability initiative, Project Green.
The partnership focuses on two primary areas: community trail stewardship and woodland restoration. Planned activities include community volunteering days for trail maintenance at locations such as Moors Valley Country Park. Additionally, the initiative aims to plant approximately 3,600 native broadleaf trees, including oak, hazel, and hornbeam, over the next three years. Restoration work is scheduled to begin at Vernditch in North Dorset during the 2026/2027 winter season to replace non-native conifers and boost local biodiversity.
This alliance seeks to address growing tensions between increased bike traffic and forest conservation by providing commercial backing for the stewardship of trails managed by Forestry England, including sites like Cannock Chase, Dalby, and Kielder.
