Turkey reports multiple traffic incidents involving drunk and unlicensed drivers

Several traffic incidents involving reckless driving and legal violations have been reported across Turkey.

In Beşiktaş, Istanbul, a 79-year-old driver reportedly accelerated instead of braking, causing their vehicle to crash into a residential garden. The driver was hospitalized but is not in life-threatening condition.

In Kayseri, a 17-year-old driver was caught following a police chase after failing to heed a stop order. Because the driver held an insufficient license for the vehicle, they were issued a 335,000 TL fine, prompting a distress reaction from the individual.

In Bursa, a driver was stopped by police after performing dangerous maneuvers in Mudanya. The individual tested at 1.55 promil alcohol, which is more than three times the legal limit for private vehicles, resulting in a 25,000 TL fine and a six-month license suspension.

Additionally, in Eskişehir, a driver was found to have a blood alcohol content of 3.02 promil. Authorities imposed a 50,000 TL fine and a two-year license suspension.
