Mudgee couple raises fertility funds at local running festival

Hilary and Amy Harris, a couple from Mudgee, participated in the Mudgee Running Festival to raise funds for another queer New South Wales couple seeking fertility treatment. The event also marked the first birthday of their youngest son, Teddy.

The Harris family shared their journey of overcoming fertility struggles, which included spending nearly $70,000 on various options. Their children, Bowie and Remy, were conceived through home insemination, while Teddy was conceived via intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) through Adora Fertility.

Hilary noted that the clinic's use of telehealth and local medical services in Mudgee helped mitigate the challenges of accessing specialized fertility care from a regional area, requiring travel to Sydney only for egg retrieval and embryo transfer.
