Mudros Stadium officially opens on Lemnos

The new Mudros Stadium on the island of Lemnos has officially opened following a 13-year period of waiting. The facility was inaugurated on Sunday, October 18, with an official football match between Aris Mudros and Argonautes.

The stadium will serve as the home ground for Aris Mudros. Local officials, including Lemnos Mayor Eleonora Georgatou and Vice Regional Governor Angelos Vlata Labrinou, attended the opening ceremony, which included a religious blessing.

Mayor Georgatou highlighted that the completion of the project was a priority for the current municipal administration, which focused on resolving legal and administrative issues that had previously stalled the facility. Recent works included obtaining building permits in late 2024 and installing infrastructure and safety kiosks in early 2025. The project emphasizes accessibility for persons with disabilities and aims to enhance social cohesion and local life by providing safe sports spaces within village communities.
