Mudurnu's Sarpıncık Pond cleaned for forest fire prevention
Special Provincial Administration teams have completed cleaning and deepening operations at Sarpıncık Pond in the Mudurnu district of Bolu, Turkey. The work was conducted to prepare for potential forest fires during the summer months.
Over time, the pond's capacity had decreased due to the accumulation of reeds and marshy layers at the bottom. The maintenance involved removing vegetation and sediment to increase water retention capacity and ensure easier access to water. This is particularly critical for firefighting helicopters, as the cleaning allows them to collect water quickly and safely during emergency interventions.
