Mueon raises $65M to develop 3D computing modules
Mueon Corporation, a data center hardware startup founded by former Intel engineers, has raised $65 million in a Series A funding round. The financing was led by Maverick Silicon, with participation from Intel Capital, Oregon Venture Fund, IQT, Wellington Capital, M-Ventures, Geodesic Alliances Fund, and Defined.
The company is developing Cubelets™, a modular, three-dimensional (3D) compute and memory architecture. Unlike traditional two-dimensional server configurations where components sit side-by-side on a motherboard, Cubelets™ stack computing and memory components vertically. This design aims to reduce the physical distance data must travel, potentially making hardware up to 10 times more power- and cost-efficient than current standards.
Mueon plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering and operations teams and transition its Cubelets™ technology from the platform development phase toward system validation and production readiness. The architecture is designed to address the power density, thermal management, and data movement constraints inherent in modern AI infrastructure.
