Mugello Circuit extends MotoGP Italian Grand Prix hosting through 2031
The Mugello Circuit in Tuscany has signed a new five-year agreement to host the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix through 2031. This extension secures the venue's place on the championship calendar for several additional editions.
Carlos Ezpeleta, Deputy CEO of MotoGP, described the circuit as “one of the spiritual cradles of MotoGP,” noting the unique atmosphere created by Italian fans and the track's historical significance. The circuit, which is owned by Ferrari, serves as a major showcase for the Tuscany region.
The Mugello Circuit has a long history with motorcycle racing, having hosted its first Grand Prix in 1976 and serving as the permanent home of the Italian GP since 1994. The announcement comes following a period of high popularity for the event, which recently saw a record attendance of 178,723 spectators.
