Mugeuk Middle School teacher's family donates 16 million won

The family of the late Kim Jong-pil, a social studies teacher at Mugeuk Middle School in Eumseong, Chungbuk, has donated 16 million won to the school's development fund. Kim passed away in May, just three months before his scheduled retirement.

During his career, Kim was known for his dedication to student welfare and community service. He served as a Red Cross Youth (RCY) instructor, leading nearly 90% of the student body in volunteer activities such as nursing home visits and coal briquette distribution. He was also noted for supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The donated funds will be used for educational activities and provided as scholarships to students in need who participate in RCY programs. Principal Kim Hong-yeol stated that the school will honor the teacher's lifelong commitment to his students by using the funds to support their growth and learning.
