Muhaimin Iskandar urges influencers to drive community empowerment

Muhaimin Iskandar, the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, has called on social media influencers to utilize their reach to drive community empowerment and social change. During a dialogue with Putri Hijabfluencer Indonesia in Jakarta, Iskandar emphasized that influencers represent a “new strength” capable of building conversations, mobilizing communities, and creating spaces for impactful collaboration.

Iskandar noted that national development cannot rely solely on the government. He described the nation as having two primary forces: the government, which provides policy and budget, and the community, which possesses creativity, potential, and networks. He stated, “Relying on the strength of the community alone is impossible, and relying on the strength of the government alone is also impossible. Therefore, the answer is collaborative space.”

The Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment (Kemenko PM) aims to act as a bridge, coordinating efforts across various sectors including ministries, businesses, industries, and community groups to foster a more self-reliant society.
