Muhamad Rozaimi Ramle warns against using politics to measure religious faith

Prof. Dr. Muhamad Rozaimi Ramle, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ), has stated that political differences should not be used as a measure of religious faith (akidah). He emphasized that politics falls under the category of fiqh (jurisprudence) rather than matters of creed, and that such distinctions must be maintained to prevent labeling political opponents as having left Islam.

Dr. Rozaimi warned that treating politics as a component of religious faith can foster social division and threaten community harmony. He noted that the phenomenon of 'kafir-mengkafir' (labeling others as infidels) has occurred previously when certain groups claim to be the sole representatives of Islamic politics.
