Muhamed Hasanović disputes RTRS account freeze claims

Muhamed Hasanović, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has issued a sharp rebuttal to Finance Minister Srđan Amidžić regarding the freezing of Radio Television of Republika Srpska (RTRS) accounts.

Amidžić claimed that the account freeze is part of a political attempt by Bosniak politicians to dismantle institutions in Republika Srpska and leave only the state-level public service. Hasanović countered that the freeze is strictly the result of a court decision related to RTRS's debt to the state broadcaster, BHRT, rather than a political directive from Sarajevo.

Hasanović accused Amidžić of acting as a spokesperson for political propaganda from Banja Luka and criticized the pattern of attacking judges and their families in Republika Srpska when judicial rulings do not align with government interests. He further noted that the discussion regarding debts owed by the Federation to Republika Srpska is a simplified view of complex financial obligations between entities.
