Trabzonspor faces KuPS Kuopio in UEFA Conference League opener

Trabzonspor is set to begin its UEFA Conference League campaign with an away match against Finland’s KuPS Kuopio on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The Turkish club aims to end an 804-day drought without a victory in European competitions.

Star player Mohamed Salah, who has scored seven goals in the first seven weeks of the Trendyol Süper Lig, is looking to record his first goal for Trabzonspor in European competition. Having previously scored extensively in the Champions League and Europa League for other clubs, Salah remains a central figure in the team’s offensive strategy.

Technical Director Thomas Reis is expected to implement a squad rotation for the match to manage player fatigue ahead of a critical Süper Lig fixture against Beşiktaş. This plan may include giving playing time to Batista Mendy and Benjamin Bouchouari, who are currently ineligible for league matches.

Ahead of the match, supporters have been advised to consider traveling via Tampere Airport rather than Helsinki to manage costs and travel times to the match location.
