Muhammet Aydın wins European Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award
Muhammet Aydın, an English teacher from the Ünye district of Ordu, has been named the European winner in the 2026 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards. Organized by Cambridge University Press & Assessment, the competition included 12,000 teachers from 129 countries. Following his European victory, Aydın was recognized as one of the nine best teachers in the world.
Aydın earned the distinction for his ‘English in the Street’ project, which transforms school corridors into miniature cities to facilitate practical language learning. Through this method, students engage in daily life dialogues and practice speaking by writing their own scripts for drama. The project has been implemented in 62 institutions across Europe and includes over 1,700 instructional videos.
