Mujeres que Cuentan international theater festival arrives in Piélagos

The XII International Theater Showcase 'Mujeres que Cuentan' is holding its central programming at La Teatrería de Ábrego in Oruña de Piélagos. From October 30 to November 1, the festival will feature productions from Ukraine, Albania, Italy, Spain, and Japan.

Key performances include 'Burneshas. Las vírgenes juramentadas', written and directed by Valbona Xibri. This production explores the Albanian Alpine tradition of women who swore celibacy to assume male social roles and rights. The festival's programming focuses on themes of identity, memory, family bonds, and the social norms that have shaped female experiences throughout history.
