Muji expands skincare line with rice‑bran fermented toner and wearable innerwear in Japan

Muji (Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd.) has introduced two new skincare‑focused products. The first is a wipe‑off facial toner that contains a rice‑bran fermented liquid derived from Yamagata‑prefecture rice bran, delivering seven vitamins, eight minerals, eucalyptus leaf extract and lactic acid for gentle exfoliation and moisture. The second product is a line of “wearable skincare” innerwear, eight items for men and women, woven with amino‑acid‑rich fibers that trap skin moisture and feature flat “M‑stitch” seams for a soft feel. The innerwear is the brand’s first apparel to receive a cosmetics registration.

The launches come as Muji reports strong financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2026. Net sales reached ¥6,907 billion, up 16.9 % year‑on‑year, with operating profit of ¥808 billion (+36 %) and net profit of ¥585 billion (+34 %). The company raised its full‑year outlook, citing overseas growth—particularly in East Asia—as the main driver, while noting a weaker domestic performance in June and the impact of a weakening yen on import costs.
