Mukesh Kumar signs with Nottinghamshire for County Championship

Nottinghamshire has announced the signing of Indian fast bowler Mukesh Kumar for the final two matches of the 2026 County Championship season. The 32-year-old seamer, who has taken 32 wickets in 26 international appearances for India, will be joining the English county club to bolster their bowling attack during a crucial period of the competition.

This stint marks Kumar’s first time representing a domestic team outside of India. He arrives in England following a successful period in domestic cricket, including helping East Zone secure the Duleep Trophy title. Kumar holds a first-class record of 233 wickets in 61 matches at an average of 21.79.

Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores welcomed the signing, noting the bowler's pedigree. There are also indications that senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami may sign a deal to play in the final stages of the championship.
