Muğla celebrates Municipal Police Week with ceremony

Municipal Police Week (Zabıta Haftası) was celebrated in Muğla with a wreath-laying ceremony at Menteşe Republic Square. The event was attended by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras, and other municipal officials.

During the ceremony, Ahmet Şan, Head of the Municipal Police Department, emphasized that the primary duty of the force is to serve public peace and maintain urban order. He expressed a commitment to building a more modern and effective organization while honoring past members who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Mayor Ahmet Aras highlighted the importance of law and justice in municipal services, stating that the work of the municipal police is essentially the application of the law within their designated responsibilities to ensure social order.
