Muğla Cycling Team invited to Tour of Beijing

The Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Continental Cycling Team has been invited to compete in the Tour of Beijing Mentougou International Road Cycling Race, scheduled for September 22–28, 2026. The team is the only representative from Turkey invited to this three-stage international event.

Established in early 2026 under the vision of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, the team has achieved several milestones in its inaugural year, including a team championship at the Tour of Samsun and participation in races in Portugal and Azerbaijan. The 12-member roster includes international athletes from the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, and Bulgaria.

Team Coordinator İlker Cömert noted that while the team seeks to gain valuable experience in such a high-level organization, the invitation is particularly meaningful due to the sister-city relationship between Muğla and a city in the People's Republic of China.
