Muğla launches project to train women as olive oil industry operators
The “Women’s Hand in Industry” project has officially launched in Muğla, Turkey, aimed at increasing the presence of women in the technical processes of olive oil production. Coordinated by the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MUTSO) in collaboration with the TOBB Muğla Women Entrepreneurs Board and Polat Makina, the initiative seeks to train women as qualified machine operators.
Rather than limiting female involvement to the harvesting stage, the project provides education, internships, and employment opportunities to integrate women into the industrial and technical aspects of the sector. MUTSO President Bülent Karakuş emphasized that increasing women's roles in technical fields like machine operation will support both local employment and the industry's need for skilled personnel.
