Muğla Metropolitan Municipality selects winning architectural project

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has concluded its national single-stage architectural project competition to design a new Social, Cultural, and Administrative Services Building in the Menteşe district, specifically in the Şeyh neighborhood. The project aims to create a hub for commerce, daily life, and public interaction in the city center.

A total of 130 projects participated in the competition, which underwent a four-stage evaluation process by a jury. The first-place award was granted to the project represented by architect Dicle Hökenek and engineer Mahmut Deniz. The second-place prize went to the team led by architect Deniz Uygur, while the third-place award was given to the team represented by architect Tuberk Altuntaş.

The new building will be constructed on a site where a previous service building was demolished due to poor earthquake performance. The competition, held under the slogan ‘Local Memory, Universal Future’, sought to integrate various perspectives through a transparent and competitive process.
