Muğla Province Faces Multiple Forest Fires in Kavaklıdere and Bozdoğan

On 14 July 2026 a forest fire broke out around 16:00 in the Kurucova neighbourhood of Kavaklıdere, Muğla. The Muğla Forest Regional Directorate dispatched ground crews and fire‑fighting helicopters; drone footage showed rising smoke and aerial suppression efforts. The fire was contained after intensive ground and air operations.

Later the same day a separate blaze ignited in the Altıntaş area of Bozdoğan district. Wind‑driven flames burned about 1.5 hectares of forest, injuring a forest‑service worker. A large response involving forest, fire, gendarmerie, UMKE and AFAD units, as well as fire‑fighting aircraft, succeeded in limiting the spread and extinguishing the fire.

Both incidents prompted investigations by gendarmerie investigators to determine the cause of the fires.
