Muğla (Turkey) sewage pump fixed after foreign objects caused failure

A pump at the sewage lift station in Güllük neighbourhood of Milas, Muğla, malfunctioned when foreign items such as wet wipes, sanitary pads and solid waste were flushed into the sewer line. The Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration (MUSKİ) reported that the fault was identified at 11:45 a.m. and repair crews restored service by 12:30 p.m., returning the station to normal operation.

MUSKİ issued a public warning urging residents not to dispose of inappropriate materials—wet wipes, sanitary products, oil, solid waste, etc.—into the drainage system, emphasizing that proper use protects the environment and prevents service interruptions.
