Yalçın Koşukavak apologizes for remarks to female journalists

Muğlaspor technical director Yalçın Koşukavak has issued an apology following controversial remarks made to female journalists during a team breakfast event in Akyaka.

During the gathering, Koşukavak remarked on the high number of women in attendance, stating, “I haven't seen this many women at a press conference before. If I knew, I would have taken your bulgur salad and gold to host a women's gathering (gün) instead.” The comments drew immediate backlash from journalists present, some of whom left the meeting, and sparked criticism from professional organizations and civil society groups, including the Muğla Bar Association and the Muğla Women's Platform.

In a written statement, Koşukavak claimed his words were taken out of context and were intended as a joke to express his appreciation for the strong female representation in Muğla's media. He stated that he never intended to diminish or insult women, but acknowledged that his phrasing could be perceived as hurtful. Muğlaspor Club also released a statement defending the director, asserting that the remarks were informal, intended as humor, and were being misrepresented by the public.
