Mulbarton Wanderers win FA Cup replay before record crowd

Mulbarton Wanderers secured a 2-0 victory against Woodford Town in an FA Cup replay that drew a record crowd of 806 supporters to the Norfolk village. The match was ordered by the Football Association following a refereeing error during the original fixture, where a penalty awarded to Woodford Town was disallowed due to player encroachment.

Ashley Jarvis scored both goals for Mulbarton, propelling the non-league side into the third qualifying round. The win also earned the club £3,375 in prize money and set up a home tie against Gloucester City. Due to unprecedented demand and the attention surrounding the controversy, the club implemented advance ticketing for the replay.

Club management and players expressed gratitude for the community support. Joint first-team manager Danny Self noted the incredible atmosphere, while player Ashley Jarvis remarked that the entire village appeared to have rallied behind the team.
