Mulegé road paving project reaches 40 percent completion
Paving work on the Bahía Asunción-Punta Prieta road in the municipality of Mulegé has reached 40 percent completion. The infrastructure project aims to address historical connectivity issues for fishing and commercial communities in the North Pacific region of Baja California Sur.
The project is a joint effort between the Government of Baja California Sur and the Government of Mexico through the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT). The current goal is to pave 10.5 kilometers within the year. Carolina Armenta Cervantes, head of the Secretariat of Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Mobility, Environment, and Natural Resources (SEPUIMM), noted that the road will improve emergency medical response times and facilitate the transport of seafood and basic supplies.
