Mulegé: Two sets of remains found in clandestine burial site

Two sets of human remains were discovered in a clandestine burial site in Mulegé, Baja California Sur, during a search operation. The State Attorney General's Office (PGJE) confirmed that specialized forensic experts processed the site and extracted the bones.

The remains have been transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO), where experts will conduct studies to establish the identity of the deceased, determine the cause of death, and investigate if they correspond to any reported missing persons. This discovery marks a new point of interest in Mulegé, as previous reports of clandestine burials in 2026 had been concentrated in Comondú, La Paz, and Los Cabos.

Authorities in Baja California Sur have acknowledged that 1,208 people remain missing in the state. The ongoing search efforts in the northern region follow increased demands from families of the disappeared for more extensive operations in the area.
