Mulino Vecchio di Bellinzago to host heritage and future event
The Mulino Vecchio in Bellinzago Novarese will host a special event on Friday, October 23, from 21:00 to 22:30 at the Don Antonio Vandoni hall. Organized by the Parco Ticino e Lago Maggiore in collaboration with the Municipality of Bellinzago and the Carlo Calcaterra Municipal Library, the evening is free to the public.
The program includes a historical overview by Giacomo Musetta, followed by presentations from Park President Alessandro Bellan and Director Monica Perroni regarding current management and future goals. The objective is to establish the mill as a key reference point for local communities.
As the only functioning water mill remaining in the Ticino Valley, the site currently serves as a Regional Center for Environmental Education, hosting educational activities and Sunday tours of its millstones and bread oven. The event also supports the site’s candidacy for the ‘I Luoghi del Cuore’ census by the FAI (Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano), which aims to provide national visibility and resources for the protection of territorial heritage.
