Multi-car accidents cause heavy traffic on Romanian motorways

Multiple multi-vehicle accidents have caused significant traffic congestion on major Romanian motorways. On Monday morning, August 10, a carambol involving at least four cars occurred on the A1 Motorway at kilometer 33 on the Pitești-Bucharest route. The accident resulted in heavy traffic, with vehicle queues extending several kilometers toward the Petrom gas station at kilometer 36. Firefighters and police are on-site, though the condition of the drivers has not been disclosed.

This follows a series of weekend accidents on the A2 Motorway (Autostrada Soarelui). On Sunday, August 9, a six-car accident at kilometer 161 near Cernavodă, Constanța County, resulted in at least one person being injured. On Saturday, another six-car accident occurred at kilometer 99 near Dragoș-Vodă, Călărași County, also on the Bucharest-Constanța route, requiring medical attention for one person.
