Multinational Aegean Seal 26-I naval exercise concludes in Greece

The multinational naval exercise ‘Aegean Seal 26-I’ was successfully completed between October 11 and October 22. The drills took place in the waters of the southern Euboean Gulf and the Saronic Gulf.

Organized annually by the Hellenic Navy, the exercise focused on enhancing cooperation between units regarding anti-narcotics operations in shallow waters and the neutralization of explosive devices and mechanisms. Training included techniques for handling both standardized and improvised explosive devices on land and at sea, as well as operations in environments involving multiple or asymmetric threats.

The Hellenic Navy participated using unconventional warfare vessels, ‘Aeros’ type fast boats, S70B Aegean Hawk helicopters, and personnel from the Underwater Demolition Command. Participating nations included Estonia, the United States, Spain, Italy, and Poland, providing drug disposal teams, divers, autonomous detection vehicles, and medical support staff.
