Car Crash on AP‑7 Near Tarragona Sends Vehicle Into Ravine

Early on Saturday morning, two cars collided on the AP‑7 near the kilometre‑248 junction in Constantí, Tarragona. The impact pushed the leading vehicle against the roadside barrier, which gave way and allowed the car to tumble down a ravine. The vehicle came to rest on a reed‑filled slope, which cushioned the fall. The second car remained on the highway with severe front‑end damage.

All five occupants sustained only minor injuries and none required hospitalisation. Catalan emergency services – the Servei Català de Trànsit, the Generalitat fire brigade, the Mossos d'Esquadra and the medical emergency system – secured the scene, disconnected vehicle batteries, cleared debris and later removed the wrecks with cranes. The damaged barrier remains unrepaired and is temporarily marked with traffic cones.
