Multiple fires cause significant property damage in France
Two separate significant fires occurred in France over the weekend of October 10-11, 2026, resulting in substantial property damage.
In Thuré, a nighttime fire destroyed an outbuilding and several vehicles, including two cars and a tractor. While the main residence was saved by firefighters, the fire caused heavy material losses, including maintenance equipment and a ton of wood pellets. An investigation is underway to determine the cause.
In Argentré-du-Plessis, a fire destroyed a 100 m² garage and spread to the ground floor of an adjacent house. The intense heat caused structural damage and visible cracks in the building, creating a risk of collapse. Four residents were relocated to stay with relatives, and emergency services, including the gendarmerie and utility providers, were mobilized to manage the scene.
