Multiple fires reported in Brazil and Portugal
Several fire incidents were reported across different regions. In Apucarana, Brazil, a fire broke out around 5:00 AM on Thursday, affecting two shops—one clothing store and one variety store—on Rua Oswaldo Cruz. The Fire Department required extra water support to control the flames, which caused structural damage but no injuries.
In Almirante Tamandaré, within the Curitiba metropolitan area of Brazil, a house fire in Jardim Roma destroyed much of the residence's internal structure, including the roof. A resident sustained minor burns, and neighbors attempted to assist before firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire is under investigation, with a cigarette butt being considered a possible source.
In Funchal, Portugal, the Funchal Sapadores Firefighters are monitoring an authorized controlled burn on Rua de Santa Luzia. Two firefighters and a vehicle are on-site to ensure the vegetation burning remains contained.
