Multiple fires reported in Martres-Tolosane and Gières

Two separate incidents involving fires were reported in France during the night of September 18 to 19.

In Martres-Tolosane, south of Toulouse, a fire broke out in a bakery around 2:00 a.m. The blaze affected a 60-square-meter sales area, though part of the 60-square-meter production area was preserved. Two individuals were treated on-site for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

In Gières, near Grenoble, twelve vehicles were partially or entirely destroyed by fire in a parking lot near the SNCF station around 5:00 a.m. Authorities are treating the incident as a criminal matter, as several vehicles showed signs of forced entry, such as broken windows, prior to being set ablaze. Technical and scientific police are investigating the scene to identify the perpetrators.
