Multiple house fires reported in France

Two separate residential fires were reported in France on the night of October 29 and the afternoon of October 30.

In Scherwiller, a fire broke out in an outbuilding at a residence on Rue des Chevaliers. The flames spread to the main house and then to a neighboring property. Approximately forty firefighters from Scherwiller, Sélestat, Obernai, and Molsheim were deployed to prevent a neighborhood-wide fire. While no casualties were reported, the primary house sustained heavy damage and faces a risk of collapse.

In La Roche-sur-Yon, Vendée, a fire ignited in the roof of a 380-square-meter home on Rue Jean-Monnet during the early hours of Friday. Eighteen firefighters utilized four hoses to contain the blaze, successfully preserving 200 square meters of the structure. The two occupants, aged 68 and 70, had evacuated the premises before emergency services arrived and have been relocated by family members.
