La Paz authorities rescue teenager from boat following abuse allegations
Authorities in La Paz, Baja California Sur, rescued a 16-year-old girl from a boat near El Mogote after she reported being isolated and physically abused by her father.
The rescue was a coordinated effort between the State Criminal Investigation Agency (AEIC) and the Fourth Naval Zone. The operation was launched following a report from the girl's mother, who had lost contact with her daughter.
The teenager had reportedly used an online game to send a plea for help, stating she was being physically assaulted, was not attending school, and was being kept isolated on the vessel. Following the intervention, the father handed the minor over to authorities, and she has since been safely reunited with her mother and provided with specialized care. The State Attorney General's Office is continuing its investigation to determine legal responsibilities.
