Motorcyclists injured in separate Dutch traffic collisions

On Monday evening a collision on the Kanaaldijk Oost between Heeten and Schalkhaar in Overijssel left a motorcyclist and a cyclist lightly injured after the motorbike fell into a canal. Both were examined by ambulance staff but did not require hospital treatment. Residents note the spot is hazardous; a fatal accident occurred there in 2016.

Later the same day a car and a motorbike collided on the Houtsingel in Zoetermeer near the Amaranthout. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and was taken to hospital. The crash caused temporary road closures, delaying a bus service, and led police to fine a van driver who used a bike lane to bypass the incident. Authorities are investigating the causes of both collisions and emphasizing the need for greater caution at such intersections.
