Italy records multiple fatal road accidents in June 2026

On June 4 a collision between two vans on the A11 near Lucca East killed a 60‑year‑old man from Porcari; a second person was taken to hospital in critical condition and the highway was closed for about two hours.

On June 18 a motorcycle accident on the provincial road 3 near the Rabbi in Forlì province resulted in the death of a 45‑year‑old woman and serious injuries to her 46‑year‑old passenger after the rider swerved to avoid a tractor.

A front‑end crash on the SS‑318 near the Petrignano di Assisi exit on June 17–18 claimed the life of a 58‑year‑old man and left two others injured; police investigations continue.

A June 16 crash on the A22 Brennero between a car and a stationary truck near Pastrengo killed 27‑year‑old pizza‑shop owner Matteo Buoninconti; a 29‑year‑old female passenger was critically injured.

Other incidents reported in the same period include a seven‑person injury in a multi‑vehicle rear‑end on the Statale Regina near Dongo, a car leaving the roadway in Viterbo, a pedestrian struck in Torre Boldone, and two deaths in Castel Volturno that prompted local road‑safety associations to file an official complaint.
