Sinaloa violence spikes: 10 dead in Culiacán, multiple shootings

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Sinaloa reported that on Thursday 25 June 2026 ten people were found dead in Culiacán and the nearby town of Escuinapa. The victims were discovered across several neighborhoods—including Infonavit Solidaridad, Villa de Santa Anita, Pemex and República Mexicana—and the cases were classified as homicide, femicide or combined homicide‑femicide, prompting the opening of multiple investigation files.

In response, the Mexican Army deployed a contingent of 90 elite soldiers from the Special Forces Corps to the Culiacán air base to reinforce security operations in the city’s high‑risk zones.

The following day, a series of armed attacks continued across Culiacán. Five people were shot dead and a child was wounded in separate incidents in the Infonavit Solidaridad and República Mexicana districts, while additional shootings left a waste‑picker, a resident of El Mirador and a young man in Infonavit Humaya injured or dead. Authorities collected forensic evidence at each scene and confirmed that the wave of violence remains ongoing.
