Santiago and Arauco face significant fire damage

In Santiago, Dominican Republic, a fire in the La Cambronal sector destroyed approximately 10 homes and two commercial establishments. The blaze, which occurred in a difficult-to-access area, left several families homeless and facing significant material losses. Mayor Ulises Rodríguez visited the site to express solidarity and confirmed that both the municipal government and the national government will provide support to the affected residents.

In Arauco, Chile, a major fire consumed roughly 95% of the Paul Harris Integral Education Center. The incident affects more than 240 students, creating uncertainty regarding the continuity of the school year. Local authorities, including Mayor Mauricio Alarcón and the Regional Ministry of Education of Biobío, are coordinating a contingency plan to ensure educational services continue for the remainder of the academic year and to plan for a permanent solution.
