Esteban Ocon addresses Haas future and Belgian GP qualifying woes
French driver Esteban Ocon qualified 18th at the Belgian Grand Prix, starting 17th on the grid after other drivers' penalties. He cited persistent car performance issues, including loss of speed on the straights and rear‑aerodynamic problems, and noted that teammate Oliver Bearman's car was the only one functioning correctly.
Ocon dismissed rumours of a Haas departure, stating that his contract option for 2027 remains with the team and that discussions about his future will take place after the summer. He highlighted the team's focus on introducing new parts for the weekend and expressed optimism that performance will improve. Marking his ten‑year anniversary in Formula 1, Ocon reflected on his career and reaffirmed his commitment to improving the Haas car.
The driver also mentioned that the team is working on several upgrades and expects further development throughout the season, aiming to regain competitiveness.
