Semarang Train Collision Kills Child Amid Spate of Indonesian Vehicle Accidents

A 22‑year‑old motorcyclist mistakenly entered the Jagorawi toll road in Jakarta on 19 July after setting the navigation app to a four‑wheel mode, prompting police to issue a fine.

In Bantul, Yogyakarta, a police officer was struck by a speeding Honda Beat motorcycle while directing traffic on 21 July, resulting in a head injury and hospital observation.

On 20 July a freight train in Semarang’s Kokrosono crossing collided with a motorbike carrying a father and his two children; one child died and the other two sustained injuries. Police said the rider ignored the crossing signals despite the train’s warning horn.

A separate incident on 21 July in West Jakarta saw an online‑ride‑hailing driver killed after a truck rear‑ended his electric motorbike while the driver attempted to overtake. The driver of the empty truck pledged to cooperate with authorities.

Earlier, a box truck crashed into a line of motorcycles on Jakarta’s MT Haryono road, injuring four riders, three lightly and one with a leg injury.

In Kediri, a commuter train (KA Dhoho) struck a motorcyclist at an unguarded level crossing, killing the rider and briefly halting the service for safety checks.
