Multiple vehicle accidents reported in Esmeraldas and on El Tigre-Bolívar highway

Two separate traffic accidents occurred in different regions. In Esmeraldas, Ecuador, two people were injured after a vehicle fell into an abyss on the Los Puentes road near the El Cabezón sector on Sunday, September 6. Preliminary reports suggest the driver lost control before the vehicle left the roadway. Local residents had previously raised concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of the road and a lack of preventive signage in the area.

In a separate incident on the El Tigre-Bolívar highway, a head-on collision occurred between a Ford Fiesta and a Jeep Cherokee on Tuesday, September 8. Witnesses reported that the collision happened after drivers attempted to avoid a motorcyclist who performed an unexpected maneuver. The motorcyclist fled the scene following the impact. Emergency services, including civil protection and fire departments, responded to the scene to assist those involved and secure the area.
