Multiple vehicle collisions reported in Kaatsheuvel and Paramaribo
Two separate multi-vehicle accidents occurred on Monday, October 26, in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands, and Paramaribo, Suriname.
In Kaatsheuvel, a collision involving three cars took place near Prins Mauritsplein on the Berndijksestraat. The accident occurred when a driver attempting to pass parked vehicles failed to notice an oncoming car, resulting in a collision that also damaged a parked vehicle. Two of the vehicles were rendered undrivable, with wheels breaking off during the impact. One driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance for further investigation and treatment. Local city guards registered the incident, and the road was temporarily closed to clear the wreckage.
In Paramaribo, a collision involving three vehicles occurred at the intersection of Zwartenhovenbrugstraat and Keizerstraat. The incident involved a police service vehicle from the Middle Region Detective Department, which was traveling with sirens and lights activated. Preliminary findings suggest the police vehicle may have entered the intersection while the light was red.
