Shootings and homicides reported in several Brazilian cities
A series of violent incidents were reported across Brazil in July 2026. A man was shot dead during a confrontation in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul, and a 14‑year‑old was killed by gunfire in Alcobaça, Bahia. In Patos de Minas, a 40‑year‑old was wounded when a pistol discharged during an illegal gun‑trade negotiation. Police investigations in Itacaré (Bahia) documented the fatal shooting of a man inside a Kombi. A police sergeant was placed on administrative leave after assaulting a teenager in Catalão, Goiás.
Separate attacks also left victims injured or dead: two children were wounded defending their mother from a machete in Santa Bárbara, Bahia; a man was executed with more than 50 bullets in Vale das Pedrinhas, Salvador; a 32‑year‑old was shot dead inside his home in Gurupi, Tocantins, a case later confirmed by another report. In Ji‑Paraná, Rondônia, a 24‑year‑old was stabbed to death during a dispute in an apartment complex. A businessman and a cook were killed by gunfire on a farm in Cotriguaçu, Mato Grosso. A 34‑year‑old was shot in the chest in Bom Jesus da Serra, Bahia. A member of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) was shot by police during an operation in Igaratá, São Paulo. Additional incidents included a bar shooting that killed a young man in Imperatriz, Maranhão, and the arrest of a 64‑year‑old after he assaulted his wife and daughter in Xaxim, Santa Catarina.
