Mumbai and St Petersburg to celebrate 60 years of sister-city ties in 2027

The Russian Consulate General in Mumbai is planning a series of cultural events for 2027 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Mumbai and St Petersburg. Russian Deputy Consul General Aleksandr Fursov stated that these initiatives aim to showcase the historical and cultural legacy of St Petersburg while strengthening people-to-people connections between India and Russia.

In conjunction with these plans, an exhibition prepared by the government of St Petersburg and the Consulate General is being showcased at the Global Impact Forum in Mumbai. The exhibition explores the history of St Petersburg through four specific dimensions: architecture, literature, resilience, and internationality, highlighting the city's unique character and the various challenges it has faced throughout its history.
