Mumbai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Sleeper route and timetable proposed

The Railway Board has released the proposed route and timetable for the Mumbai-Bengaluru Sleeper Vande Bharat Express, which is expected to become India's second sleeper Vande Bharat service. The train is designed to connect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai with Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) in Bengaluru, covering a distance of approximately 1,118 to 1,137 kilometers.

The journey is expected to take between 15 and 16 hours, significantly reducing the current travel time of 22 to 24 hours. The proposed route will pass through Kalyan, Pune, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Raichur, Guntakal, Anantapur, and Dharmavaram. The Kalaburagi route was selected because it features fewer curves, allowing for better support of speeds up to 130kmph.

The service is expected to operate six days a week, excluding Mondays. The train will feature fully air-conditioned coaches, including First AC, Second AC, and Third AC. While official pricing is pending, estimated fares for Third AC are between 2,200 and 2,500 rupees, Second AC between 3,200 and 3,600 rupees, and First AC between 4,000 and 4,500 rupees.
