Mumbai court dismisses cheating case against Sunny Leone

A Mumbai court has upheld the dismissal of a cheating complaint filed against Bollywood actor Sunny Leone and her husband. The Dindoshi court, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge P A Sane, dismissed a criminal revision application filed by complainant Omprakash Shreenarayan Lal Jain.

Jain alleged that the couple and their manager failed to pay him a percentage-based incentive related to a Rs 1.75 crore Telugu film deal he helped facilitate. He had previously filed charges under the Indian Penal Code for criminal breach of trust, cheating, and criminal intimidation.

However, the judge ruled that the dispute was purely commercial in nature. Upon reviewing documents such as tax invoices and settlement communications, the court determined the matter was a mere breach of a commercial contract rather than a criminal offense, noting that the complainant failed to establish the essential elements required for a cheating charge.
