Mumbai court frames charges in Saif Ali Khan stabbing case

A Mumbai sessions court has formally framed charges against Shariful Fakir, a Bangladeshi national, in connection with a stabbing incident involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The charges include house trespass, attempted dacoity, and entering India illegally using a fictitious identity.

The incident occurred in January 2025 at Khan’s residence in Bandra. According to police reports, Fakir allegedly entered the home through a bathroom with the intent to commit robbery, demanding ₹1 crore. During the encounter, Fakir reportedly attacked a staff nurse and Khan himself. Khan required emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital following the attack.

Fakir’s legal team has raised concerns regarding the legality of his arrest and the lack of access to the chargesheet. In response, the court directed the prosecution to provide all relevant case documents to the accused. A hearing regarding Fakir’s bail application is currently pending.
