Mumbai gang targets police officers' homes for cylinder thefts

A gang has been identified in Mumbai for targeting the homes of police officers to steal gas cylinders. The group reportedly identified the residences of police families before carrying out the thefts.

The incidents occurred in a residential complex located near the Mumbai Police Commissioner's office and the LT Marg police station, an area considered a high-security zone. At least five police officers have been targeted so far. One victim, whose husband has served in the Mumbai Police since 2006, reported that a cylinder went missing from a storage area overnight.

An FIR has been registered against unknown individuals at the Azad Maidan police station. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects and determine the full extent of the gang's activities and whether they have been involved in similar crimes previously.
